Jenna speaking at GDC

Founder Jenna Hoffstein will be attending and speaking next week at the Game Developer's Conference, the world's largest and longest-running event for game industry professionals.  If you're attending, please stop by the panel to hear Jenna speak about managing an indie team!  Here are the details:

Producer Panel: Managing Your Indie Team

Monday, March 2 at 3:00 - 4:00 pm

Room 2009, West Hall

Speakers: Kara Kono, Jenna Hoffstein, Aaron Isaksen, Alex Schwartz, Amy Dallas

Producing games in the indie world can be complicated. How do you create a schedule and keep on track with so many unknowns? How do you keep your team collaborating and aligned without an office space? How can you avoid burnout on a project that spans a very long time period? What project management tools and methods are most helpful in organizing your team? Join indie game producers Alex Schwartz, Amy Dallas, Jenna Hoffstein and Kara Kono as they discuss the unique challenges indie game producers face, and their methods for keeping their teams happy and productive.

Takeaway

Attendees will come away from the panel with an understanding of different approaches successful indie teams are using to best manage and organize their teams. They will learn strategies for coping with common indie team pitfalls such as burnout, lack of funding and never-ending schedules.

PAX Prime 2014 Wrap Up

We came, we saw, we survived PAX Prime 2014!  What an amazing whirlwind weekend.  We demo'd the game to hundreds (maybe thousands?) of people, and founder Jenna Hoffstein participated in The PAX 10 Panel: Part 1.  It was an incredible honor to be a part of the PAX 10, and a blast to showcase the game!  We had gamers of all ages stop by; a special huge thank you to everyone who played the game or swung by to say hi!  Everyone cast spells, used potions, and defended the towers like a true wizard.

We've had some great press mentions recently (some from PAX, some just coinciding with the start of the school year), here are the highlights:

Review: The Counting Kingdom is charming, educational, and not just for kids by Bryan Edge-Salois, The Examiner

"Little Worlds Interactive’s The Counting Kingdom is a relatively rare breed of learning game: It’s so successful at being a good game that your kids may not even realize they’re learning while playing it. It's a game that is educational -- not just an educational game."

The Counting Kingdom Review by Kate Reynolds, Game Skinny

"If you're looking for a math game for your elementary-aged child, or if you just like number-puzzles, Counting Kingdom is the charming (yet educational) game for you... I would much rather play The Counting Kingdom than any other game on my iPhone, and I'd still choose it over half the games in my Steam library."

The Counting Kingdom at PAX Prime

We're just a few days away from PAX Prime 2014!  Nearly 10 years after the event was founded as a celebration of gaming culture, the event has grown to host over 70,000 gamers every year. As a proud member of the PAX 10 our bags are packed and we're flying out tomorrow to exhibit The Counting Kingdom.

Stop by our table to play the game and speak with developer Jenna Hoffstein.  We'll also have a special deal for Steam keys of The Counting Kingdom - pay what you want!  Help support the team by swinging by to say hi and pick up a copy, and as a special bonus you'll get a hand-painted monster block.  We have a limited number of these available, so make sure you pick yours up early.

We'll be on the 6th floor of the Expo hall at booth 6203.  See you there!
